March 5, 2024 - Buldhana- In a shocking incident, a young man from Buldhana fell victim to a fraudulent online prostitution scheme, resulting in a loss of Rs 6 lakh. The Buldhana Cyber Police, after three days of relentless investigation covering a distance thousands of kilometers, successfully apprehended five suspects from Kota district in Rajasthan.
The elaborate scam involved the creation of a website dedicated to online prostitution, luring unsuspecting individuals with promises of connecting them with girls and women. The victim filed a complaint with the Buldhana Cyber Police, initiating a swift response from law enforcement.
District Superintendent of Police, Sunil Kadasen, directed a focused effort to combat such cyber crimes, leading to the formation of a specialized team. This team, comprised of Additional Superintendent of Police B. V Mahamuni, API Sunil Solanki, and dedicated officers including Head Constable Shakeel Sthan, Rajdeep Wankhede, Vicky Kharat, Sandeep Raut, Keshav Dhuve, and Hrishikesh Khanderai, embarked on a journey across Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh to trace the criminals.
The breakthrough came when mobile location data pinpointed the suspects on the Jaipur-Ambala road. A pursuit ensued, culminating in the arrest of Dewan Zainul Abedin (22), Chirag Patel (30), Jeet Ramnoj (26), Fuzel Khan (22), and Mustafa Khan Pathan (24) at Mandana, District Kota, Rajasthan, on the Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway.
Upon their apprehension, Buldhana Cyber Police seized valuables worth Rs 7 lakh, including Rs 70 thousand in cash, 10 mobile phones, and a vehicle. The accused are now in custody, and further investigations are underway to unravel the full extent of the online prostitution scam.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the increasing prevalence of cyber crimes, prompting authorities to intensify efforts in combating such fraudulent activities and ensuring the safety of citizens in the digital realm.
