Mumbai, July 5, 2026: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt have married in an intimate ceremony at the actor’s Mumbai residence, marking a new chapter in a relationship that began with a chance meeting nearly 25 years ago and was rekindled decades later.
The private celebration, held on Sunday, brought together close family members and friends. The couple signed their marriage registration documents during the ceremony before celebrating with guests at Khan’s Bandra home.
The wedding capped a remarkable relationship journey that began in Bengaluru about 25 years ago. Khan and Spratt first met there but eventually lost contact as their lives moved in different directions.
Their paths crossed again in mid-2023 through a member of Khan’s family. Speaking publicly about the relationship earlier, the actor said their reunion happened unexpectedly and that they remained in touch after reconnecting.
What began as renewed friendship gradually developed into a relationship. The couple dated privately before Khan introduced Spratt to the media during celebrations surrounding his 60th birthday in March 2025.
Khan said at the time that the two had known each other for decades before reconnecting. Their relationship subsequently became more visible, with Spratt joining the actor at public events and spending time with his family.
The couple chose to keep their wedding away from the scale typically associated with major Bollywood celebrations. Reports ahead of the ceremony said the guest list was limited to around 100 to 150 family members and close friends.
Family members and prominent guests arrived at the actor’s residence for the ceremony, while images from the celebration later emerged showing the newlyweds and moments from the marriage registration.
The marriage is Khan’s third. He was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira. Their marriage ended in 2002. Khan later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. The former couple, who share a son, Azad, announced their separation in 2021.
Spratt, who is originally from Bengaluru and has worked in the beauty and wellness industry, is also a mother from a previous marriage.
From an early meeting in Bengaluru to a reunion more than two decades later, Khan and Spratt’s relationship developed largely away from public attention before becoming official in 2025. Their private Mumbai wedding on July 5 brought that long journey full circle, with the couple beginning married life surrounded by family and close friends.
