Jalna, Maharashtra- In a devastating incident on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, also known as the Samruddhi Expressway, seven people lost their lives and three others were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles. The accident occurred late Friday night, June 28, 2024, near Kadvanchi village in Maharashtra's Jalna district.
According to police reports, the crash involved a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) traveling from Nagpur to Mumbai and a car moving in the opposite direction. The collision took place around 11 pm, with the impact so severe that it caused the MUV to breach the crash barrier and overturn off the left side of the road.
Six victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a seventh succumbed to injuries later at a hospital. The three survivors are reported to be in serious condition.
Local villagers and police responded quickly to the accident, working to rescue those trapped in the wreckage. The scene of the crash showed the mangled remains of one of the vehicles strewn across the road, highlighting the force of the impact.
